Hello readers and fashionistas!
It has been a while but I definitely do not doubt that this past month has been a blast for most of you so far this summer! The numbers of friends and family travelling or studying abroad just seem endless, but thank goodness they are blowing up their photo albums on facebook so I can visually take in their experiences even if I am just jealously staring at this screen. As for me, I made my usual annual trip to Taipei, Taiwan to visit my grandparents, eat, shop and explore. Those who have been there understand that the eating life is there life-fulfilling, that's right, the rumors are true. This time, I hit up a restaurant called Five Dime, and it looks a little like this:
The center of the restaurant was the "river" with life-size decorative canoes and artistic sculptures
While the entire restaurant shared the same theme, the interior design of every floor and corner had something different and unique. The photo above was taken from the 3rd floor.
And the exterior of the restaurant...no big deal. The mystical building was erected just years ago and there are three other locations in Taiwan as well, serving dishes of Taiwanese cuisine. The land was inherited by Xie Lixiang, who, ever since she was young, was inspired by her imagination to create her own "world", and after saving enough money, she did just that her restaurants which basically contained artworks--paintings and sculptures, within artwork--mouth-dropping interior, within artwork-- the restaurant itself. With great food (they specialize in their milky mochis) and an enchanting atmosphere, this was no doubt, one of the main highlights of my trip.
Now back to reality, in a fashionable manner of course. This past month, our ladies and gents have been working away on photoshoots and features for our upcoming issue this Fall, so please stay tuned with us to see what wonderful work they did! Also! We are more active on twitter than ever! So if you have not done so,
follow us now to see what we are up to!
This week, look forward to seeing inspirations from the sixties! Michelle Obama may be rocking the White House right now with her chic color-rich style, but since the 60's First Lady Jackie'O (Jackie Kennedy) had made her mark in bright color fashion as her style continues to inspire designers today.
