Oh, Hello UCSD Students

Why hello UCSD fashionistas! You may have noticed that the vendor fair is taking place this week. If you did, make sure you stop by Danni Hong's little shop adorably called "Oh, Hello Friend"! It is a charming shop that started May 2008 as an Etsy shop. Long story short, she now has a successful and quite cozy little business! In her interview, Danni described her collection as having both a vintage and an urban feel. However, she also feels that her collection with the modern style makes it "new vintage".
She carries a wide range of accessories such as earrings, rings, vanity glasses, wallets and hair accessories. She also has an absolutely lovely selection of clothing as well.
So before this lovely lady leaves at the end of this week, stop by her little tent on Library Walk!

There are also other ways to see her collection too if you can't stop by!

Tuesday Accessory: Pledge Wedge

These wedges were created by a collaboration made in heaven: Suno and Loeffler Randall. The high wedges come in the two patterns shown above. What makes these shoes beautiful is the usage of materials. The wood base paired with the cut out napkin-like material make them both organic and ultra modern looking. While these wedges are 645 smackaroos, you can don other delightful wedges such as modcloth.com's copious amount of artsy wedges for half the price but all the beauty.
Wedges are making a comeback. Will you step into this trend?

While this model isn't as well known as our previous feature models of the week, we thought that she is definitely one to watch. She is a Folio model scheduled to come back to North America at the end of May. One of her biggest photo-shoots has been for Spanish Marie Clarie.

Spaced Out

For those of you who haven't noticed the alien invasion, I have brought to you pictures of alien Katy Perry in her video "E.T" featuring Kanye West and Lady Gaga stills in "Born this way". The future is now and futuristic style is the hottest trend. What does that mean for the fashion world? It means brightly colored makeup such as galaxy blue and poison pink colors with exaggerated eyes. Not sure how to apply the makeup? There are many You Tube makeup guru videos to watch such as this one.

Boho Chic

Feathers are beading their way into our hair this season. These feather extensions can last up to two months if taken care of well! The feathers are not woven into your hair. In fact, it is a silicone bead that is beaded onto your a couple strands of hair with the feathers attached.
They can be washed, brushed, combed, braided, and have hair products put on them and still remain intact. The plumes come in all colors of the rainbow including neutral colors. So let that bohemian spirit come out in you and stop by your nearest salon and bead on the latest trend!

(Some salons also offer the service for your pooch!) Price ranges vary but most salons sell two feathers for 15-20 dollars.
